Lake Regional Health System is looking for a dependable, professional Medical Lab Scientist/Medical Technologist to join our Laboratory Services team. With our state-of-the-art hospital and network of clinics, therapy sites, and pharmacies, Lake Regional offers a wide range of employment opportunities in our community.
 

  • Perform complex medical laboratory testing on laboratory specimens, analyze laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results;
  • Obtain patient specimens, including blood specimen, verify proper collection, perform requested procedure(s), perform all necessary documentation accurately, prepare appropriate reagents;
  • Timely review results, proficiency testing, quality control, instrument checks, calibrations and other necessary information for certification of results;
  • Assist in keeping policy and procedure manuals current;
  • Assist in instructing staff members in new policies and procedures;
  • Document and make corrections if necessary, using appropriate avenues of notification;
  • Provide efficient notification of critical values; notify laboratory manager and/or pathologist of unusual situations;
  • Strictly follow procedure for patient identification and maintenance of specimen integrity;
  • Resolve problems as they occur and document problems and corrective action appropriately;

Refer problems to other personnel, laboratory manager, and pathologist as appropriate.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors – Medical Lab Scientist or Medical Technology
  • ASCP Preferred
