Job description

Find your calling at Mercy!Assists technical personnel in performing limited testing and clerical tasks. Performs all procedures under the direct supervision of a medical technologist. Performs related duties as assigned.Processes specimens received in the laboratory and prepares them for testing.Performs blood specimen collection (phlebotomy). All the duties, responsibilities and qualifications documented in this job description are subject to reasonable accommodation. This job description is not to be construed as a detailed statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements. Employees of St. Johns Health System are expected to comply with all federal, state and local regulations in addition to organization policy and procedures.Position Details:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Computer skills. Organizational skills. Good communication skills. Ability to maintain accurate and orderly records. Equipment Used: Standard laboratory instrumentation.
Preferred Education: Some college courses in science preferred.
Preferred Experience: Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience preferred.
