ABOUT EXPRESS LAB

Express Lab is a full-service medical laboratory that provides diagnostic testing for patients of healthcare facilities throughout southern Idaho and beyond. Express Lab was founded in 2000 by Dr John E. Liljenquist, MD., who is also the founder of Rocky Mountain Diabetes Center in Idaho Falls, ID. Dr. Liljenquist and his fellow physicians are nationally renowned diabetes and endocrinology experts. Express lab continues to be locally owned, and is a full-service, independent laboratory. We provide fast and accurate clinical laboratory testing for patients, healthcare providers, and wellness-minded corporations.

Over the past 20 years, Express Lab has grown in size and volume to that of a regional-hospital laboratory, and is known for its customer service, friendly staff, exceptional phlebotomists, and fast turn-around times for medical laboratory results.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CYTOTECHNOLOGIST

As a Cytotechnologist, you will provide preparation and accurate microscopic screening of gynecological specimens for the purpose of detecting and diagnosing the presence or absence of cancerous and pre-cancerous cell changes and other pathological conditions. You will provide clinicians with accurate results in a timely manner to assist them with optimal patient care.


You will also

  • Screen and evaluate gynecological cytology slides (using SurePath and ThinPrep methodology)
  • Perform daily quality control
  • Participate in proficiency testing
  • Participate in document control and re-screening
  • Comply with state and federal regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science related field and successful completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program
  • CAP accredited cytology certification
  • ASCP certification
  • 3 years clinical experience preferred

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time Cytotechnologist position typically works 8 to 5, Monday-Friday
