About the Role

Medical Affairs at Azurity Pharmaceuticals, a privately held company delivering innovative medicines for overlooked patients across 50+ countries, drives scientific and clinical initiatives with a portfolio of 30+ brands spanning 10 dosage forms and 9 therapeutic areas.

The Senior Manager, Scientific Communications is a US-based hybrid position within the Medical Affairs Department, reporting to the Sn. Director Scientific Communications and Strategic Partnerships. The Senior Manager, Scientific Communications contributes to the development of the scientific communications strategy across the product/portfolio lifecycle, ensuring scientifically accurate, compliant, and impactful dissemination of data to external and internal stakeholders. The Senior Manager, Scientific Communications contributes to publication planning, congress strategy, scientific platform development, medical content governance, and insight-driven communications to support disease-state leadership and product evidence visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Communications Strategy & Scientific Platform

  • Contribute to the development and execution of integrated annual and multi-year scientific communications plans, aligned with the medical strategy, evidence-generation priorities, product lifecycle objectives, and business needs.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of the scientific platform, including the core data narrative, scientific lexicon, key messages and ensure alignment across channels and teams.
  • Provide input to the governance, processes, frameworks, and operating model required for effective scientific communications across the organization.
  • Partner closely with Medical Leads and other subject-matter experts, who retain accountability for the medical and scientific accuracy, interpretation, and strategic relevance of the content.
  • Ensure that scientific communications deliverables are developed through clear review, approval, and escalation pathways, with appropriate Medical Lead and subject-matter expert involvement.

Publications & Data Dissemination Leadership

  • Manage the publication-planning process and ensure alignment with medical strategy, evidence-generation plans, Good Publication Practice, ICMJE principles, internal policies, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to the end-to-end publication governance framework, including: publication planning, manuscript/abstract development, journal and congress strategy, Author identification/onboarding, contributor and review management
  • Manage publication and medical-writing agencies, including scope definition, performance expectations, quality oversight, timelines, and budget management.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all deliverables

Congress Strategy & Execution

  • Contribute to the development of the Medical Affairs congress strategy
  • Coordination of scientific sessions, symposia support (as applicable), and booth scientific content (medical-only)
  • Partner with Field Medical and Medical Leads regarding congress insights

Evidence Integration & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Clinical, Biostats, and RWE/HEOR to translate data into clear and balanced scientific narratives.
  • Coordinate with Medical Information to ensure alignment across functions

Operational Excellence, Vendor & Budget Management

  • Provide input / maintain publication trackers, congress trackers, and budget planning/forecasting
  • Manage external partners (publication and medical writing agencies)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to present effective and influential oral presentations
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • GPP3 / ICMJE principles (publication ethics, authorship, disclosures)
    • SRC/PMRC review processes and medical content compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a time and independently
  • Excellent organization skills. Skillfully plans, prioritizes, and executes multiple responsibilities and projects.
  • Proven ability to lead agencies/vendors and manage budgets and timelines
  • Proficiency in digital tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Advanced terminal degree (PharmD, MD, DO, DNP) or other advanced medical degree (NP, PA, RN etc.) is required.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in Scientific Communications/Medical Affairs, including publications and congress strategy
