Job description


Position Title: Personnel Security Assistant I
Reports To: The Customer and Project Manager
Clearance Type: Active Top Secret
Work Location: Washington D.C. Metro Area
Job Description:
Advantage SCI is accepting applications to support a federal agency personnel security program. This position is considered to be an emergency response position and may be required to deploy to an Emergency Relocation Site in the Washington DC metro area for exercises or actual incidents. Exercises requiring deployment occur every other year and last one to two days typically.
Summary of duties include but not limited to:
  • Conduct e-QIP operations including the initiation of government and contractor employees and report generation
  • Review security clearance documentation (such as SF-85s and SF 86s)
  • Create and maintain Personnel Security Files
  • Approve/deny User ID forms based on initial background checks for all government and contractor personnel.
  • Process applicant fingerprints utilizing the 3M Cogent system, or other comparable system, including electronic transmission
  • Process requests for security background reports from a web-based background database
  • Assists with creation, revision, dissemination, and tracking of Security Awareness Training for cleared personnel.
  • Utilize the National Background Investigations Services (NBIS) System
  • Support USAccess HSPD-12 Credentialing/Physical Access Control processes
  • Operate and support CCure 9000 and PassagePoint Global experience applications

Experience and Skills
Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess a Top Secret clearance
  • Must have a minimum of one year personnel security experience
  • Minimum high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) equivalency
  • Must be a US citizen
  • A minimum age of twenty-one years
  • Experience working with eQIP, Personnel Security Databases such as Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Personnel Investigations Processing System (PIPS)/Central Verification System (CVS), Federal Personnel Payroll System (FPPS)
  • Experience working background investigation web-based database such as CLEAR. Personnel must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Demonstrable proficiency and fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language to include the ability to construct and write clear, concise, accurate, and detailed reports.
  • Demonstrate courtesy and respect, and impartial enforcement of directives.
  • Possess honesty, integrity, good judgment, courage, alertness, self-reliance.
  • Ability and skills to tactfully and positively interact with stakeholders while maintaining poise and self- control during stressful events and incidents.
  • Ability to demonstrate poise, self-confidence, and sound decision-making.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to understand, and apply printed rules, directives, detailed orders, instructions, procedures, and training materials.
  • Be and remain drug free for the duration of employment on the contract.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, run, and lift items weighing not exceeding 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access.
  • Completion of a Personnel Security Suitability Adjudication Course

Working Conditions:
