Position Summary
LYNC Transportation Services is seeking a dependable part-time School Transportation Coordinator to support daily transportation operations and provide route coverage as needed. The role combines operations support with standby driving. 
Schedule
Monday–Friday. Applicants may apply for an AM or PM shift. Hours may vary based on operational needs.
  • AM Shift: Assignments are scheduled between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
  • PM Shift: Assignments are scheduled between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Core Function: Operations Support
  • Support the daily opening, coordination, and closeout of school transportation operations.
  • Monitor dispatch and routing systems, trip updates, driver communications, and service activity in real time.
  • Communicate route status, delays, schedule changes, and service concerns to drivers, attendants, office staff, schools, families, and other authorized stakeholders.
  • Coordinate call-out coverage, route substitutions, vehicle assignments, employee schedules, and open assignments under management direction.
  • Maintain accurate route, employee, vehicle, assignment, and coverage information in Company systems.
  • Answer operational calls and messages, document actions taken, and promptly escalate safety-related, unresolved, or time-sensitive concerns.
  • Support fleet readiness, required documentation, daily reports, and other assigned transportation operations duties.

Core Function: Standby Driving
  • Maintain all licenses, qualifications, clearances, training, and other requirements necessary to operate Company passenger vehicles.
  • Provide route, trip, or shuttle coverage when assigned because of call-outs, staffing shortages, emergencies, or other operational needs. Coverage may extend for part or all of the assigned shift.
  • Safely transport students or passengers and complete required inspections, child safety checks, trip documentation, and route communications.
  • Provide transportation-attendant or field support when qualified, then resume assigned office coordination duties when coverage is completed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with at least three (3) years of licensed driving experience.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work professionally with employees, schools, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility.
  • Strong technology proficiency and experience using multiple software applications, electronic systems, and devices, including computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software platforms and Company-issued technology.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to safely operate Company passenger vans.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in school transportation, passenger transportation, dispatch, routing, scheduling, fleet coordination, or transportation administration.
  • Experience in a fast-paced operations environment using computerized routing, dispatch, scheduling, or workforce-management systems.

  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening dated within the past three (3) months
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) meeting Company and insurance requirements
  • Drug and alcohol screening
