Responsibilities:
1. Assists other cooks in the preparation of food. Works as a team to accomplish
daily goals.
2. Supervises and instructs kitchen personnel in the safe, proper, and efficient use
of all kitchen equipment.
3. Orders and receives food shipments into the school, signing invoices only after
order has been verified.
4. Determines the quantities of each food to be prepared daily according to a
planned menu using tested and uniform recipes
5. Serves the proper serving sizes to meet the necessary requirements with regard
to the ages of students served, production sheets recorded daily.
6. Works closely with the Food Service Representative for a safe, clean
environment, and special dietary needs.
7. Complies with all Federal, state and local laws and regulations for the
maintenance, repair and operation of equipment and machines.
8. Required to train on site and some after school sessions.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or training and experience that are considered
equivalent
2. Knowledge of good dietary practices.
3. Proficiency in the preparation of large quantities of food.
4. Competence in supervising others.
5. Such alternatives to above qualifications as the Board of Education may find
appropriate and acceptable.
