Job Summary: The Transition Program Manager is the lead transition specialist who manages all high school programs at Workshops, Inc. This individual ensures quality transition programming is developed according to the needs and standards of ADRS and referring counselors and educators. The Program Manager also oversees these programs to ensure they are effectively delivered. The Transition Program Manager works directly supervising those who serve via the development and implementation of plans focused on vocational achievement. This individual has a passion for high school students with disabilities and understands the importance of his/her role in helping guide a team focused on preparing each student for a successful future.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in related field required, masterโs degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) yearsโ experience in vocational rehabilitation, rehabilitation counseling, job development, or a closely related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication as well as mature and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter who can work well independently to meet goals.
- Must have comfort and aptitude to work with people of various cognitive abilities.
- Must have proven experience in providing quality counseling and guidance to others as well as providing quality transition services to youth with disabilities and in developing and delivering effective curriculum.
- Must be computer literate with strong word processing skills and the ability to deftly navigate online job applications.
- Must have a driving record acceptable to Workshops, Inc.โs insurance company for coverage.
To be successful in this role, the Transition Program Manager must be effective in developing and maintaining relationships with referral sources; ensuring the team delivers consistently high-quality programming; and ensuring effective reporting of student activities, achievements, and challenges.
Job Responsibilities amp; Performance Standards:
- Manage Transition Programs
- Source and/or develop curricula.
- Seek and gain approval of curricula, programming, etc. from ADRS.
- Make in-person presentations of programs and curricula options to ADRS transition counselors continually advocating for and promoting Workshops.
- Develop relationships with ADRS transition counselors and continually cultivate those relationships.
- Receive and manage all referrals for transition services.
- Develop and oversee delivery of an effective summer program.
- Annually provide a formal presentation to ADRS transition counselors in a small group format.
- Keep track of metrics and review with associates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with businesses for JET.
- Conduct performance reviews.
- Create and Implement Vocational Plans
- Provide orientation services to Workshops for all individuals served.
- Manage the creation of individual vocational plans.
- Work with persons served to evaluate and revise goals and objectives at least monthly.
- Work with persons served to arrange wrap-around services.
- Work with persons served on soft skill development.
- Provide Transition Services
- Effectively supervise the teaching of curriculum.
- Ensure detailed and effective data management.
- Ensure Clear Communication
- Through case notes, phone calls, and in-person meetings communicate with referral sources.
- Solve problems with the referring counselor and fellow staff members.
- Maintain documentation to keep files current.
- Maintain communication and cooperative relationship with referring agencies.
- Always maintain confidentiality.
- Work as a member of a staff team that is oriented toward the success of the people we serve
- Participate in all Case Conference meetings and make appropriate recommendations regarding consumer cases.
- Keep knowledge base current by attending all required training, in-services, and meetings.
- Performs other duties as requested for the good of consumers and/or the organization.
Salary Range: $45,000- $52,000
Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office, in local school classrooms, and throughout the community in various worksites. Work may require sitting for long periods of time, standing, and public speaking. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires driving and transporting persons served. Involves contact with staff, persons served, and the general public.
Work Hours: This is a full-time exempt position. Hours may vary, but typical work hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
