We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled School Nurse - Registered Nurse (RN) to join our educational institution's health services team. The School Nurse will play a vital role in promoting student health, providing immediate medical care, and supporting overall wellness initiatives. This position requires a compassionate professional with extensive nursing experience, particularly in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and outpatient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient assessment abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medical documentation and healthcare regulations. As a School Nurse, you will ensure the safety and well-being of students while fostering a healthy learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough health assessments and evaluate student health needs using physiology and anatomy knowledge.
  • Provide immediate care for injuries and illnesses, including IV insertion, medication administration, and injection procedures.
  • Manage emergency situations efficiently, utilizing emergency room experience and urgent care skills to stabilize students before further treatment.
  • Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Administer medications following prescribed protocols while documenting all interventions precisely.
  • Monitor vital signs, perform patient assessments, and document findings accurately to support ongoing healthcare needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans.
  • Support infectious disease care protocols and implement infection control measures within the school environment.

Qualification:

  • Proven experience in hospital medicine or emergency medicine settings, including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers.
