Purpose Statement:

The Yearbook Teacher plays an important role in documenting and celebrating student life at Weston Christian Academy. This position is responsible for leading the development and production of the annual school yearbook while also supporting school communications through photography, graphic design, and social media. The primary focus of this role is to capture and communicate the life of the school in a way that reflects the mission and values of Weston Christian Academy.

This individual will lead and mentor a group of middle school students in the creation of the yearbook using Jostens software while ensuring all production deadlines are met with excellence, creativity, and accountability.

Scope:

This position supports the Advancement and Communications efforts of the school by capturing meaningful moments, producing visual content, and helping maintain a consistent and professional representation of WCA to both internal and external audiences.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and oversee production of the annual school yearbook
  • Manage yearbook deadlines and coordinate with the yearbook vendor
  • Guide and support students involved in yearbook development
  • Capture high-quality photographs of school events, student life, and key moments throughout the year
  • Organize and maintain a digital photo library for school use
  • Assist in the creation of digital and print materials, including promotional graphics and event materials
  • Support social media efforts by creating and posting content for major school events and daily student life
  • Maintain consistency in visual branding across all communication platforms
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administration to ensure timely and effective communication and comprehensive coverage of school events
  • Assist with additional communications or advancement projects as needed
  • Maintain accountability among student team members to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks

  • Be a committed Christian who is a member in good standing in a Christian church
  • Have a strong commitment to the Philosophy and Statement of Faith of First Baptist Church at Weston and to the Mission Statement of Weston Christian Academy

  • Bachelor's degree required; BFA preferred
  • Photography and editing experience or coursework preferred
