Job description

Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Manager - Internal Maintenance is to manage the daily operations and the performance management of the hourly Internal Maintenance Team to achieve Department and Company goals and objectives with a focus on enhancing the guest experience.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort's policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage the daily and on-call schedules to ensure proper coverage.
  • Create and review scheduling reports and communicate pertinent data to department leadership.
  • Complete the daily exception log for payroll.
  • Manage daily labor costs to help ensure that they align with business levels and adjust to them accordingly.
  • Utilize Virtual Roster and UKG to view Team Member schedules and attendance.
  • Conduct daily inspections of assigned Team Member areas to help ensure the department's cleanliness standards are upheld. Ensure deficiencies are corrected and addressed appropriately.
  • Review HotSos/Work Order reports to help ensure timely completion of repairs and report.
  • Open/close the shift with the Team and issue/collect keys and radios.
  • Deliver the Daily Serenade to the Team.
  • Recognize Team Members for unmatched guest service and outstanding performance.
  • Conduct regular property inspections, including Congress and the Pool, to help ensure the campus is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Effectively resolve guest concerns quickly and appropriately and to the guest's satisfaction, escalating them where appropriate.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • Listen to and effectively resolve Team Member concerns, conflicts and other internal issues.
  • Manage hourly Team Members, including the delegation of tasks and assignments and ensure their proper and timely completion.
  • Promote and help ensure effective communication within the department. Inform Team Members and management about pertinent Company and department information.
  • Interview prospective candidates, participate in the candidate selection process and work closely with department leadership to make sound hiring decisions and acquire the best talent available.
  • Train Team Members on department standards, SOPs, and safe and proper equipment and chemical use.
  • Ensure that department Tap Out Procedures are followed.
  • Coach, counsel and issue Progressive Discipline when appropriate to promote continuous performance improvement.
  • Identify, recommend and execute cost saving initiatives.
  • Manage assigned projects and other actionable items to completion within provided deadlines.
  • Conduct Departmental 30-60-90 Day Performance Reviews.
  • Provide unmatched guest service at all times.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company's standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
Minimum Qualifications
    • 21 years of age.
    • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
    • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study is preferred.
    • 5+ years managerial experience in hospitality, guest services, customer service or equivalent experience in public areas or environmental services, preferably in a 4 or 5 star property.
    • Union experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing a large group of individuals.
    • Ability to logically and independently plan, organize and complete work in a timely manner.
    • Working knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and chemical handling.
    • Working knowledge of all software systems used in PAD including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and basic Excel.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
    • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and overnights.

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.

  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
