Job description

To provide patient appointment scheduling and customer service functions with a personable and professional manner. These functions include scheduling appointments, patient reception, appointment check-in, insurance verification and other related duties as assigned. This work may vary in percentage of time per function, location, and schedule.

Schedule: 1.0 FTE - 40 hrs/weekly: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM **Must be an hour within location**

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in a personable and professional manner
  • Ability to respond patiently and effectively to questions asked by patients, family, providers and staff
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn and adapt to new software 
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a fast-paced healthcare setting with patients, families and healthcare personnel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work independently with strong attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Competency in medical terminology and health care business environment
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to accommodate changes in work requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Two years post-secondary education in Health Care or Business Administration is preferred.

Experience: 

  • Healthcare scheduling is preferred, five years is strongly preferred
  • EPIC experience strongly preferred
