Job description

We are Para la Naturaleza, a nonprofit environmental organization based in Puerto Rico, and we are seeking a candidate to join our team! The Environmental Interpretation Coordinator supervises a group of employees who carry out administrative and/or operational activities, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and efficiently in support of established goals. This role participates in the implementation of operational plans and determines the appropriate approach to ensure that objectives are met.

This position will be based in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and requires availability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, as well as to travel within and outside of Puerto Rico when necessary.

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience in similar roles
  • Experience supervising and managing personnel
  • Experience delivering talks and presentations
  • Experience in research and fieldwork
  • Knowledge of the Mac operating system and Outlook is preferred
  • Bilingual. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, negotiation, persuasion, and ability to manage conflicts and confidential information
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and to travel within and outside of Puerto Rico
  • Availability and flexibility to work in the field, including open areas and mountainous, coastal, and other environments
