Job Summary
Responsible for scheduling all surgical procedures and collecting complete clinical and insurance coding information. Coordinates office and hospital-based medical procedures, tests, and imaging to maximize scheduling efficiency. Interfaces with vendor staff to ensure necessary equipment is available for all procedures. Ensures optimal utilization of resources and supports seamless surgical operations.
Essential Functions
• Completes accurate documentation of informed consent for procedures and surgeries.
• Provides detailed instructions to patients regarding test preparations, arrival times, and directions; addresses patient questions.
• Confirms patient insurance provider and secures or communicates the need for prior authorization.
• Reviews and verifies surgery schedules, ensuring correct patient, procedure, time, site, implants, and equipment per Universal Protocol.
• Communicates with hospital surgery schedulers and verifies alignment with office procedure schedules.
• Retrieves and analyzes special reports to support scheduling accuracy and decision-making.
• Responds to information requests from departments, administration, case management, and resolves scheduling conflicts through the office manager.
• Coordinates with surgeons, anesthesiology, nursing, and ancillary departments to facilitate surgical scheduling for all age groups.
• Verifies Pre-Admission Testing orders for accuracy, including patient details, procedure, laterality, equipment, codes, and physician signatures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent experience
Experience Requirement
0-2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
