Role Overview

The Manager, Portfolio & Scheduling serves as the subject matter expert and technical authority for project scheduling across the portfolio. This role drives consistency, quality, and effectiveness of scheduling practices, while providing technical leadership, mentoring, and functional support to project schedulers. The position works closely with Project Controls and PMO leadership to ensure alignment of scheduling standards, resource allocation, and portfolio-level execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary scheduling subject matter expert across all projects.
  • Review and validate project schedules for logic integrity, quality, and compliance with contract and internal standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex scheduling issues with Project Managers and stakeholders.
  • Lead development and implementation of scheduling standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Facilitate training programs to enhance scheduler capabilities.
  • Support scheduling resource allocation in coordination with Project Controls Manager.
  • Lead and review project baseline schedule development across the portfolio.
  • Conduct schedule health checks, critical path analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Support schedule delay analysis and development of mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Oversee development of construction-focused schedule reports from EPC contractor data.
  • Provide technical oversight of EPC contractor schedules and ensure alignment with contractual milestones.
  • Support Earned Value Management (EVM) processes and progress tracking.
  • Collaborate with PMO and Project Controls teams to ensure consistency of scheduling practices.
  • Maintain expertise in Primavera P6 and introduce process improvements and tools.
  • Support proposal efforts by reviewing Level 1 schedules for feasibility and accuracy.
  • Mentor and provide coaching to schedulers and new team members.
  • Participate in portfolio-level reviews and risk evaluations.
  • Ensure integration of engineering, procurement, and construction schedules.
  • Support development of reporting dashboards and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in EPC project scheduling, preferably in power generation.
  • Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and resource-loaded scheduling.
  • Experience performing schedule risk analysis, delay analysis, and critical path evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycle and execution requirements.
  • Experience supporting Earned Value Management (EVM) processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and provide functional leadership to scheduling teams.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
