Job description

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. Product lines include structural block, interlocking paving stones, engineered wall systems, retaining walls, ornamental and garden products, and a full range of sack goods. We are a proud member of the Pacific Coast Building Products Family of Companies.
SALARY RANGE $18.00-$20.00 / HR. DOE
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the SCG Supervisor, this position supports the Splitter/Cutter/Grinder/Blaster/Tumbler in all areas of manufacturing; is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    • Operates splitter/grinders/saws/blasters/tumbler in an efficient and safe manner.
    • Adjusts equipment for product being produced.
    • Feeds materials to production lines.
    • Stacking materials by hand as required.
    • Checks blocks for proper quality (splits, cuts, grinding, blasting and tumbling)
    • Forklift operation is required
    • Regularly meets with supervisor
    • Maintains work area clean and clutter free per company standards
    • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives
    • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
    • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties
    • Ability to operate splitter, cuber and any other equipment required to perform duties.
    • Production line experience preferred.
    • Requires basic reading and writing skills.
    • Basic mathematics and counting is required.
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional manner in dealing with employees and the public.
    • Operation of mobile electronic equipment may be required.
    • Forklift operation is required (Basalite Forklift Certification must be obtained).
    • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
