Description
Clackamas Community College (CCC) at the Oregon City campus seek to hire part-time Scene Shop Assistant for available assignments during the academic year. POSITION PURPOSE:
  • Provide Scenic Carpentry and/or Scenic Artist support.
  • Must own and maintain a personal/professional wardrobe of paint clothes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Supply skills to effectively work independently or in a group to complete scenic carpentry and/or painting needs.
  • Act as liaison between production team, tech students, technical director and the college.
  • Work with Technical Director in securing paint or material orders.
  • Come prepared and report any issues to the Technical Theatre Director.

AUXILIARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintain and insure that department equipment and building use policies are followed.
  • Represent the theatre program and the college in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment. Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 2 years of experience (comparable professional training may be considered) in stage performance / stage craft / and/or Tech Theater training programs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:
Requires rigorous stair climbing, paint can lifting, lumber and scenery maneuvering and/or possible lighting fixture manipulation of up to 40 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily, but not limited to, the scene shop, stage space, catwalks, storage facilities, and support areas of the Theatre.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the general supervision of the Department Chair and/or Director.
