Industrial Scale Technician-Field Service
Our client is a leading provider of industrial weighing solutions, helping customers maintain accurate, reliable, and compliant weighing systems across a variety of industries. This role is ideal for an experienced Scale Technician with a background servicing commercial and industrial scales who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, working directly with customers, and solving technical challenges in the field.
Responsibilities
* Install, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial weighing systems
* Service a variety of equipment including truck scales, floor scales, rail scales, bench scales, hopper scales, tank scales, and weighing indicators
* Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, and communication issues at the component level
* Perform preventive maintenance and field inspections to ensure equipment accuracy and reliability
* Verify scale performance and calibration in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements
* Support scale system integrations, communication interfaces, and weighing software applications
* Provide technical recommendations and consult with customers on repair, replacement, and service options
* Prepare service quotes and assist with identifying additional service opportunities
* Complete service reports, calibration records, inspection documentation, and other required paperwork
* Maintain company tools, test equipment, and service vehicles in a professional manner
* Attend technical training programs and remain current on new weighing products and technologies
* Represent the company professionally while delivering exceptional customer service
* Perform field service work in a variety of industrial, commercial, and outdoor environments
Requirements
* Previous experience working with industrial scales, weighing systems, or scale service and repair
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot scale systems to the component level
* Experience calibrating, maintaining, and repairing commercial or industrial weighing equipment
* Understanding of weighing principles, load cells, indicators, junction boxes, and communication interfaces
* Experience working independently in a field service environment
* Ability to read technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and scale system configurations
* Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
* Valid driver's license required
* CDL is a plus
* Strong mathematical, communication, and customer service skills
* Ability to maintain accurate documentation and service records
* Comfortable working around heavy industrial equipment and outdoor environments
* Ability to enter scale pits and work in confined or restricted-access areas when required
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience servicing truck scales, rail scales, floor scales, or other large-capacity weighing systems
* Knowledge of NTEP, state weights and measures requirements, or scale certification procedures
* Experience with industrial controls, instrumentation, or automation systems
* Background supporting customers in manufacturing, transportation, recycling, aggregate, agriculture, logistics, or related industries
