Job description

This Department of War enterprise data and analytics program delivers mission-critical capabilities that enable leaders across the Department to make faster, better-informed decisions using trusted data at scale. Leidos Digital Modernization sector is seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to support the delivery, enhancement, and adoption of enterprise data and analytics products used across multiple DoD organizations.
In this role, you will work alongside government partners, engineers, and other industry teammates to translate operational and strategic requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions. You will contribute directly to product planning, execution, and continuous improvement-helping ensure capabilities are delivered efficiently, aligned to mission priorities, and positioned for sustained success.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a high-visibility, enterprise program at the intersection of data, analytics, and emerging AI technologies. Ideal candidates are motivated by mission impact, comfortable operating in complex stakeholder environments, and interested in building deep domain expertise while delivering capabilities with real-world national security outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Scrum Master for an Agile product team, facilitating execution of sprint-based delivery.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Support backlog refinement and ensure user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development.
  • Track team progress using Agile metrics including burndown charts and sprint performance indicators.
  • Identify, track, and remove team-level impediments to ensure continuous delivery.
  • Coordinate with Product Owners to align team execution with product priorities and program objectives.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers to manage cross-team dependencies.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile and SAFe best practices across the team.
  • Support integration of team activities into DevSecOps pipelines and system lifecycle processes.
  • Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and team performance analysis.
  • Facilitate communication between team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide status updates and reporting on team progress, risks, and issues.
  • Support preparation for Program Increment (PI) Planning and participation in SAFe program-level activities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline and 8 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master in Agile or SAFe environments.
  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and supporting team-level execution.
  • Experience managing team backlogs, sprint planning, and delivery tracking.
  • Experience working with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar).
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience operating within SAFe or Agile frameworks supporting enterprise systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps, cloud, or data platform environments.
  • Experience working in multi-team Agile programs with cross-team dependencies.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Federal programs.
  • Familiarity with Agile metrics, reporting dashboards, and performance tracking.
