Position Overview
The Scale Clerk is the first and last point of contact for our customers and drivers. You'll be responsible for weighing trucks, entering tickets accurately, and keeping traffic flowing in and out of the yard. This is a detail-oriented job in a busy environment where things move quickly-accuracy matters.
What You'll Do
  • Weigh all inbound and outbound loads using the scale system
  • Enter customer info, material types, and weights into the system accurately
  • Print and process scale tickets and receipts
  • Direct drivers where to go and keep traffic moving safely
  • Communicate with yard operators and office staff throughout the day
  • Answer phones and help customers at the scale window
  • Handle cash or payments (if assigned) and balance transactions
  • Keep paperwork organized and up to date
  • Watch for discrepancies in loads or tickets and report issues
  • Follow all safety rules and company procedures

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Reliable and shows up on time-this role is critical to daily operations
  • Strong attention to detail (small mistakes can cost money)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes hectic environment
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn our scale software
