Job Description

Visa Sponsorship: We offer sponsorship under specific treaty-based U.S. work visas, including TN and E-2 (for eligible Canadian, Mexican, and French citizens). We do not support or transfer other visa types (e.g., H-1B). 

We are looking for a SCADA Engineer to manage and develop SCADA systems supporting energy asset operations and trading activities. The role sits at the intersection of industrial systems, IT, and trading, ensuring reliable connectivity, performance, and integration of energy assets across multiple environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the SCADA engineering team, providing guidance and support
  • Design, implement, and maintain SCADA and energy management systems
  • Ensure connectivity and integration of energy assets ( renewables, batteries, thermal assets)
  • Collaborate with trading, IT, and infrastructure teams
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and industry standards
  • Support onboarding of new assets and maintain system documentation
  • Develop dashboards and tools to improve operational visibility
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners
  • Contribute to system architecture and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications
  • 8+ years in energy, utilities, or power trading environments
  • Strong experience with SCADA/GMS platforms and real-time energy operations, including Monarch, Hitachi, GE, PI,
  • Knowledge of power trading, scheduling, asset dispatch, and ISO/RTO markets (ERCOT a plus)
  • Experience with Modbus, OPC, ICCP, and system integrations
  • Solid understanding of networking, cybersecurity, and system reliability
  • Strong troubleshooting and operational support experience (including on-call)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with trading, operations, IT, and engineering teams
  • Nice to have: AGC, cloud/databases, dashboards/monitoring tools, leadership experience, certifications, and French language skills
