Credit Analyst / Commercial Lending Underwriter

Savvy Staffing is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst for a well-established bank located in Needham, MA. This position is responsible for evaluating commercial loan requests, analyzing financial information, assessing credit risk, and supporting the growth of a high-quality commercial loan portfolio.

Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite commercial loan requests in accordance with established lending policies and underwriting guidelines.
- Review financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, appraisals, and other documentation to evaluate creditworthiness.
- Assess cash flow, collateral, financial trends, and overall risk to recommend appropriate loan structures.
- Prepare detailed credit presentations and underwriting summaries for loan approval.
- Partner with Commercial Relationship Managers to support customer financing needs.
- Meet with customers and financial professionals as needed to discuss loan requests and underwriting matters.
- Perform annual credit reviews and monitor existing loan portfolios for potential risks.
- Conduct market and industry research to support sound lending decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, internal policies, and lending procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial credit underwriting experience.
- Strong understanding of commercial lending principles and financial statement analysis.
- Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
