Credit Analyst / Commercial Lending Underwriter

Needham, MA

$28.00hr - $31.00/hr
Full-Time / Contract / Possible Temp-to-perm

Savvy Staffing is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst for a well-established bank located in Needham, MA. This position is responsible for evaluating commercial loan requests, analyzing financial information, assessing credit risk, and supporting the growth of a high-quality commercial loan portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and underwrite commercial loan requests in accordance with established lending policies and underwriting guidelines.
  • Review financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, appraisals, and other documentation to evaluate creditworthiness.
  • Assess cash flow, collateral, financial trends, and overall risk to recommend appropriate loan structures.
  • Prepare detailed credit presentations and underwriting summaries for loan approval.
  • Partner with Commercial Relationship Managers to support customer financing needs.
  • Meet with customers and financial professionals as needed to discuss loan requests and underwriting matters.
  • Perform annual credit reviews and monitor existing loan portfolios for potential risks.
  • Conduct market and industry research to support sound lending decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, internal policies, and lending procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial credit underwriting experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending principles and financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
