Job description

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Technical Documentation Manger to drive the successful execution of Navy Navigation training implementations and technical documentation solutions. This individual will lead cross-functional teams consisting of Technical Writers, ECP/ECI Specialists, Instructional Designers, Graphic Designers, and functional subject matter experts while serving as the primary interface between the customer and the delivery team. The Technical Documentation Manger will combine strong technical expertise, product knowledge, and leadership capabilities to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery while building trusted customer relationships. Core to the role is the development of the training itself, including the assessment of content, method of delivery, and measurement of learner understanding. Using significant individual discretion, a Technical Documentation Manager works with the customer to define outcomes, uses content knowledge of Navy systems and procedures to develop appropriate content, applies relevant instruction methodologies and ultimately delivers the programming to the targeted audience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and support cross-functional teams, ensuring all requirements are met on schedule and within budget by monitoring costs and resources to ensure efficiency.
  • Lead the review, analysis and evaluation of technical documentation requirements.
  • Manage training readiness for production deliveries, aligning content with roadmaps, and release cycles.
  • Conduct needs assessments and ensure content meets user and customer requirements.
  • Perform level of effort evaluations to assess task scope, resource requirements and estimated completion timelines in support of project planning and execution.
  • Identifies potential risks and creates contingency plans to keep projects on track.
  • Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or program effectiveness.
  • Develop alternative training methods if expected outcomes are not met.
  • Complete post-training activities to ensure customer receives all information relevant to the students' completion, assessments of learning, operational issues/challenges that were encountered/addressed, and budget.
  • Ensures technical documentation deliverables meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and "face" of the delivery teams to the customer.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted customer relationships.
