Job description

Annual Pay Range: $71,000 - $101,000
Key Obsessions:
  • Deliver Clear, Accurate, and Usable Technical Documentation
    • Create and maintain operator manuals, maintenance guides, troubleshooting documentation, and system overviews.
    • Translate complex technical and engineering concepts into clear, customer-friendly documentation.
    • Ensure documentation aligns with Aagard standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
    • Maintain version control, accuracy, and traceability across documentation deliverables.
  • Leverage AI to Improve Documentation Quality and Efficiency
    • Apply AI-enabled tools to assist with drafting, standardizing, summarizing, and updating technical content.
    • Develop and maintain AI-supported documentation workflows, templates, and style guides.
    • Identify opportunities to integrate AI tools with enterprise systems and documentation sources to automate documentation updates from engineering data, PLC/HMI standards, CAD files, or other source systems.
    • Ensure responsible, secure, and ethical use of AI tools within documentation processes.
  • Champion Knowledge Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Structure documentation for reuse across projects, product lines, and customer deliverables.
    • Organize technical content for easy retrieval by internal teams and customers.
    • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Quality, and IT to gather, validate, and improve documentation content.
    • Support training and adoption of documentation standards, tools, and AI-assisted processes across the organization.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience producing technical documentation for industrial equipment, automation systems, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong technical writing skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, or industrial control environments preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and CAD files
  • Experience using documentation tools such as Word, SharePoint, Confluence, or similar content management systems
  • Strong prioritization, time management, organization, and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Confidence and ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers verbally and in writing
  • A conscientious approach to meeting and exceeding customer expectations
  • Passion for continuous improvement, learning, and applying new technologies
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
  • Must possess a Real ID or Passport and be willing to travel as necessary
