The Payments Data Analyst addresses critical operational challenges by monitoring and optimizing the performance and health of financial operations. This role focuses on analyzing complex transactional metrics and trends to proactively identify inefficiencies, mitigate financial risks, and streamline collections processes. By serving as an analytics expert, the position transforms raw data into actionable insights and communicates clear strategic conclusions to stakeholders across the organization.

What Success Looks Like (Objectives):

  • Read, analyze, and interpret key operational metrics to define business problems and establish clear facts; draw sound conclusions to communicate findings concisely to a wide audience of internal departments
  • Prepare, produce, and validate daily, weekly, and monthly reports designed to alert the business to unforeseen fluctuations; design and implement proactive reporting alerts for critical business metrics to safeguard operational health
  • Locate, weave together, and validate the accuracy of various data sources to build comprehensive reporting; deliver tailored insights for all levels of operations management to support department OKRs
  • Analyze and interpret metric trends to identify process improvements; focus on reducing risk and fraud while simultaneously enhancing collection efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Perform special projects, research, and analysis to deliver strategic presentations requested by senior management; leverage automated tools to enhance reporting efficiency
Skills, Experience and Requirements

Core Skills and Competencies (What you’ll bring):

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of translating data findings into clear, actionable business recommendations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and technical documentation skills essential for stakeholder collaboration
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with Pivot Tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP functions, and exposure to Macros
  • A comprehensive understanding of the payment lifecycle alongside expertise in billing, collection, risk, or fraud management
  • Foundational AI literacy, featuring the ability to leverage AI applications to optimize data interpretation and workflow efficiency

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Tableau and VBA for Office
  • Familiarity with the Google Office Suite

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar quantitative field, or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant professional experience
  • 2-4 years of experience with SQL
