SAT Tutor

Eager to help students succeed at their SAT/ACT? Looking for flexible scheduling, $20-$23/hour, and NO PLANNING ahead of time? We'd love to meet you!

GradePower Learning Largo is looking for an upbeat reliable, enthusiastic, dynamic part-time tutor who wants to work in a rewarding teaching environment. Candidates must be comfortable teaching students in 9th to 12th grade. Instructors must be comfortable with algebra 1, geometry, and algebra 2 math.

We are currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning center. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers, equations, and language and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

SAT/ACT tutoring experience, or ability to score in the 85th percentile required.

Teacher-tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements:

All Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning work PORTIONS of after-school and evening hours (2:30pm - 7:00pm), and OPTIONAL Saturdays (10:00am - 1:00pm). Build your own schedule of 4-30 hours/week. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a college/university is preferred

Experience:

  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a 9th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level is preferred
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills; comfortable with algebra 1, geometry, and algebra 2
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details):

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Teaching in-person
  • Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
