  Job Title : SAS Viya Developer

  • Location:- Charlotte, NC (5 days Onsite)

We are seeking an experienced SAS Viya Developer to spearhead the migration of our legacy analytics and reporting projects from SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) to the modern SAS Viya platform. You will be responsible for refactoring existing SAS code, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless continuity of business-critical analytics.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience developing and migrating code within SAS Viya environments; 5+ years of overall SAS programming experience.
  • Platform Expertise: Deep proficiency in SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Studio, and SAS Viya architecture (CAS Actions, Compute Server).
  • Technical Proficiencies: Advanced Base SAS, macro programming, PROC SQL, and experience with SAS Access engines for connecting to various databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake).
  • Modernization Tools: Experience with SAS Content Assessment, SAS Environment Manager, and Git integration.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Code Translation & Refactoring: Analyze, modernize, and rewrite legacy SAS code (Base SAS, SAS Macros, and PROC SQL) from SAS Enterprise Guide to run efficiently in SAS Viya (SAS Studio, CAS, and SAS Compute).
  • Migration Execution: Migrate existing flows, stored processes, and jobs to the SAS Viya environment, leveraging SAS Environment Manager and the SAS Content Assessment tool.
  • Pipeline Optimization: Redesign data integration and ETL pipelines to maximize in-memory processing and parallel computing capabilities (CAS).
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous parallel testing and data validation to ensure migrated workflows match legacy outputs.
  • Documentation: Document architectural changes, data lineage, and mapping processes to maintain compliance and facilitate knowledge transfer.

Stakeholder Enablement: Provide technical support and training to business users and data analysts adapting to the new Viya interface
