Job description

Altronic LLC is a world leading manufacturer of ignition and control systems for industrial engines largely used in the oil and gas industry. Our products are designed to improve engine performance, enhance reliability and streamline operating efficiency. We have a summer internship opportunity for an individual in Methods, Mechatronics, or Electronic Engineering Technology at our production facility located in Girard, Ohio.
Specific goals and objectives
  • Gather data about assemblies, assembly processes and procedures, testing processes and procedures
  • Using Microsoft Word, modify and/or create new assembly work instruction procedures
  • Verify information with different internal departments and key employees

Procure any necessary supplies (tools, bins, etc.) for the project as needed
Knowledge skills or techniques gained include
  • Applying skills obtained through universities in a real-life manufacturing environment
  • Having a direct reporting structure to keep action items on track
  • Learning to self-motivate in order to stay on track for specific assignments
  • Self-management and time-management
  • Presentation skills (incl. several status update presentations in front of GPMO and management)
  • Use of SAP MRP system to collect data
  • Interfacing with management, engineers, and operators to learn to communicate effectively
  • Project Management
  • Use of Document control systems and software solutions

Requirements
  • Junior or Senior level in an accredited college or university
  • Live in or near Girard, Ohio
