The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Role Purpose
We are seeking a highly qualified IT Solution Architect for Procurement Systems to spearhead the transformation of our procurement technology landscape. The successful candidate will be accountable for identifying and mapping IT capabilities, establishing technical roadmaps, and providing expert alignment and support to Enterprise Architecture and Service Owners through vendor engagement and market trend analysis. A significant aspect of this role involves advancing IT capabilities in line with business requirements as defined by Global Supply Management (GSM). This position entails oversight of procurement systems, management of end-of-life transitions, and ensuring seamless integration across all supply chain processes.
The selected candidate will be entrusted with comprehensive responsibility for leading the design, delivery, and support processes, ensuring achievement of objectives and adherence to compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as an internal consultant to business procurement teams, advising them on strategies for advanced procurement capabilities both within and beyond SAP.
  • Leading the architectural design, enhancement and supporting
  • solutions to Corning's and industry standards.
  • Support the creation and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive roadmap for procurement systems to ensure scalability, efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for enhancement within procurement technologies and processes, emphasizing business value through advanced process mining tools such as SAP Signavio.
  • Coordinate project planning with the IT PMO regarding the transition of end-of-life systems, aiming for minimal disruption and the smooth deployment of new solutions.
  • Collaborate with Service and Product Owners and Engagement Managers in a technical consultant capacity, serving as a liaison between software vendors and internal IT teams. Build a lively network with subject matter experts outside of Corning.
  • Advocate for the adoption of innovative technologies and best practices across procurement and supply chain teams, and identify consolidation opportunities
  • Provide technical leadership for procurement systems, ensuring robust integration with supply chain IT processes.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for procurement processes, offering insights to SAP SMEs and contributing to continuous improvement and delivery initiatives.

Experiences/Education - Required
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT, with particular emphasis on supply chain and procurement systems.
  • Over 5 years of practical experience working with SAP modules related to procurement, specifically SAP MM and SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass.
  • SAP ECC required.
  • Documented success in designing end-to-end procurement solutions and processes.
  • Experience mentoring and collaborating with others to solve issues.
  • Extensive experience working with delivery and support teams within IT SAP environments.

Experiences/Education - Desired
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MS) preferred.
  • Proven track of architectural design of procurement eco-systems beyond the SAP product portfolio.
  • Certification or demonstrated proficiency in utilizing BTP extension technologies.
  • Demonstrated abilities in strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Experience with procurement systems, supply chain IT processes, system integrations, and IT delivery and support procedures.
  • Knowledge of process mapping, process mining, and continuous improvement practices.
  • SAP SAP S/4 Hana preferred.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Clean Core, RISE, and experience using Cloud ALM.
  • Proficient communication and collaboration skills for working with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and trends within procurement and supply chain sectors.

The range for this position is $129,143.00 - $177,572.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
