Production Supervisor Night Shift Schedule: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM | 2-2-3 rotation Location: Mebane, NC Compensation: $75,000-$80,000 annually + shift differential Team Size: Oversees approximately 7-25 employees per shift Assessment Requirement
Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Night Shift Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing and packaging operations during overnight hours. This role is responsible for driving a safe work environment, ensuring consistent product quality, and meeting production goals through effective team leadership, planning, and execution. The Supervisor will coordinate people, equipment, and materials to keep operations running efficiently while maintaining food safety and quality standards. Strong leadership skills are essential, and bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise all production and packaging activities during the assigned night shift
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety, quality, and accountability across the team
  • Ensure production lines operate efficiently while meeting daily safety, quality, scrap, and output targets
  • Maintain high housekeeping and hygienic standards in accordance with GMP and food safety regulations
  • Coach, mentor, and develop operators and line leads to improve performance and technical skills
  • Ensure team members follow standard work instructions, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance and technical staff to resolve equipment issues and reduce downtime
  • Communicate effectively during shift handovers regarding line status, open issues, and priorities
  • Adjust staffing assignments to account for attendance issues and production fluctuations
  • Coordinate job rotation and cross-training to support production needs and employee development
  • Support onboarding and training of new hires by creating and monitoring training plans
  • Identify operational or quality concerns, take corrective action, and escalate when necessary
  • Verify inspections, documentation, and production records are completed accurately and on time
  • Track and report production performance, incidents, and improvement initiatives
  • Handle employee performance discussions, attendance issues, and disciplinary documentation when needed
  • Review and approve PTO requests and assist with labor scheduling for the shift
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and supervisory experience
  • 1-3 years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing, bakery, or FDA-regulated facilities is a plus
  • Working knowledge of production equipment and basic mechanical troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices, GMPs, and FSMA requirements
  • Comfortable supervising a diverse team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Proficient in basic math and intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience tracking KPIs and documenting production and quality data
  • Prior exposure to quality inspections and compliance processes preferred
  • SAP experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $79,999.00 per year
