Job description

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on SAP MM Functional Lead to own and drive the Materials Management workstream as part of a full-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation. This individual will be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable SAP solutions while ensuring alignment across procurement, inventory management, and supply chain operations.

This role requires a strong functional expert who can lead design, guide configuration, and partner cross-functionally to deliver an integrated, end-to-end solution within a complex manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end MM workstream across all phases: Discovery, Design, Build, Testing, and Go-Live
  • Conduct fit-to-standard workshops and guide business stakeholders toward SAP best practices
  • Own solution design and configuration across core MM processes, including:
  • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
  • Inventory Management
  • Vendor Master Data
  • Purchasing and Sourcing
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance (FI/CO), Production Planning (PP), Quality (QM), and Logistics (LE)to ensure seamless integration
  • Identify gaps, define solutions, and drive standardization across plants and processes
  • Lead and support data migration, master data governance, and data validation activities
  • Develop and execute testing strategies, including unit, integration, and UAT
  • Support cutover planning and go-live execution, including onsite support and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with system integrators and internal teams, ensuring accountability and delivery
  • Provide post-go-live stabilization support and continuous improvement recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of SAP experience with a strong focus on MM (Materials Management)
  • Proven experience leading at least one full-cycle S/4HANA implementation
  • Deep expertise in P2P, inventory management, and procurement processes
  • Hands-on experience with SAP configuration and solution design
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments (Food & Beverage or CPG preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workshops and influence business stakeholders
  • Experience managing or coordinating system integrators (SI partners)
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional integrations (FI/CO, PP, QM, LE)
  • Willingness to work onsite in Elma, NY and engage directly with plant operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in co-manufacturing or multi-site production environments
  • Familiarity with S/4HANA Public Cloud
  • Experience with master data governance and process standardization initiatives
  • Exposure to integrated planning or scheduling tools (e.g., PlanetTogether)
  • Background supporting highly regulated environments (food, pharma, etc.)
