Job Description

The SAP Basis Administrator provides hands-on technical support for SAP Basis operations to help maintain the stability, security, performance, and availability of SAP environments supporting global business operations. This role works under guidance from senior Basis team members and collaborates with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams to support on-premise and cloud-based SAP platforms.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support SAP system lifecycle activities including installation assistance, configuration, patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance of SAP environments.
  • Monitor SAP system health and performance, working with hosting providers and internal teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform troubleshooting, incident support, and root cause analysis across development, quality, and production systems.
  • Execute SAP system refreshes, transports, and scheduled maintenance tasks following established procedures and runbooks.
  • Assist with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) support activities related to integration and system connectivity.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business teams to support system availability and uptime.
  • Support audit and compliance activities by assisting with documentation, access reviews, and evidence collection.
  • Administer and support third-party tools such as RevTrac, OpenText, and AutoSys under established standards.
  • Adhere to SAP Basis standards and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing
  • Assist with disaster recovery, backup, and high availability activities including recovery testing and validation.
  • Coordinate with SAP and third-party vendors to support incident resolution and system issues.
  • Support SAP upgrades, enhancement packs, and patching activities.
  • Assist with SAP GUI version updates and coordinated deployment activities.
  • Monitor background jobs and batch processing, investigating and resolving failures as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration or closely related SAP technical support roles.
  • Basic experience with operating systems, databases, or infrastructure technologies.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Basis concepts including monitoring, job management, transports, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, cybersecurity fundamentals, and networking concepts.
  • Experience working with hosting providers or outsourced service partners in a support capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot job failures, system errors, performance issues, and connectivity problems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to document procedures and communicate technical issues clearly.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, business users, project managers, and IT professionals.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and provide occasional off-hours support during critical incidents.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This position will report to Service Delivery Manager - Basis, Mobile and Technology Integration

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Less than 10%

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position will be between $79,420 - $99,270.  Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
