Job description

Summary

  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Performs sexual assault examinations while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Identifies medical stability or injuries, collects forensic evidence, provides/arranges for counseling and follow up care and testifies in courts when summoned. Collaborates with law enforcement, medical staff and community resources.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • The regional sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) center provides services and resources to Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties in a private and secure facility. Staffed by nurses with specialized training, the SANE center provides immediate medical treatment, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, to patients who have experienced sexual violence. Additional counseling and patient support is also available.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required.
    • Two (2) years RN experience required, one (1) year experience must be in an acute care setting.
    • Healthcare Provider BLS required.
    • AGH Sane Nurse Program:
      • IAFN SANE-A or Oregon Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certification required within one (1) year of hire.
