Summary

A successful Material Prep Operator I uses hand grinders, pedestal grinders and hand files to remove burrs and thread starts from various machined components in a safe manner. This is an hourly position reporting to the Machining Supervisor.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to operate manual Bridgeport machines, grinders and sandblasting equipment.

  • Operate crane system for moving and handling heavier materials.

  • Ability to comprehend all routing and product documentation.

  • Ability to operate the parts washer.

  • Ability to maintain the work area including housekeeping and organization.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with other department employees and other personnel as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
