Job description

Position Summary

At Samsung Austin Research and Development Center (SARC) and Advanced Computing Lab (ACL), we are building a center of excellence for Intellectual Property (IP) that is applied to high-performance computing devices (mobile, automotive, and other custom market segments) consumed by millions of people around the world. Role and Responsibilities

We're seeking a GPU RTL Design Engineer where you will work as part of a GPU IP design team. This is a junior to mid-level position where you will act as an individual contributor tasked with driving the RTL design of various sub-blocks for a GPU targeted to mobile market. RTL design experience and architectural understanding is critical for success.

  • You engage with other architects within the IP and at the SoC level to drive the architectural definition
  • You partner with the physical design team to resolve implementation level details
  • You work closely with design verification to test plan and otherwise ensure proper functionality
  • You expect to collaborate with engineers in Korea on requirements
  • You deliver quality micro-architectural level documentation
  • You produce quality RTL on schedule meeting PPA goals

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/relevant technical field, or 3+ years of experience with a Master's degree, or a PhD.
  • Experience driving the RTL design of various digital sub-blocks of GPU /CPU high performance digital designs
  • Architectural through RTL design experience on high performance digital designs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer graphics and computer architecture background is highly preferred
  • Low Power Design experience is a plus

Total Rewards

At Samsung - SARC/ACL, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,000 and $208,400. Your actual base pay will depend on variables that may include your education skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. This is an exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Samsung employees have access to benefits including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), free onsite lunch, employee purchase program, tuition assistance (after 6 months), paid time off, student loan program, wellness incentives, and many more. In addition, regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) are eligible for MBO bonus compensation, based on company, division, and individual performance.

Additionally, this role might be eligible to participate in long term incentive plan and relocation.
