Job description

Industrial Inspection & Analysis seeks a reliable Sample Technician to support sample handling and preparation activities at our Hammond, Indiana lab location.


Position Summary:

The Sample Technician will empty oil, fuel, and coolant samples into designated waste containers, assist with client supply orders, open and sort daily sample deliveries, and support the laboratory with sample preparation as needed. This position offers growth opportunities into sample receiving or laboratory testing for candidates who demonstrate strong performance, aptitude, and mastery of core responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Empty oil, fuel, and coolant samples into designated waste containers following safety and handling procedures.
  • Assist in preparing and packing client supply orders under direction.
  • Open, sort, and organize daily deliveries of sample boxes.
  • Support laboratory staff with sample preparation and related tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the lab environment.

Required:

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a laboratory, warehouse, manufacturing, or sample-handling environment is preferred.
  • Experience following standard operating procedures and safe material-handling practices is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Dependable work ethic and commitment to safety and cleanliness.
  • Ability to organize tasks and manage a steady flow of daily sample deliveries.

Work Arrangements:

  • Lab environment
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Hourly Rate: $16 - $19/hr DOE
