Job description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Lab Technician
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Lab Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring product integrity through rigorous analytical testing of in-process and finished goods. You will act as a critical link between the laboratory and plant operations, performing real-time monitoring and providing data-driven recommendations to operators to maintain peak product quality. The ideal candidate is a safety-conscious professional with a strong foundation in wet chemistry and instrumental analysis who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Testing & Monitoring
• Sample Management: Prepare and process process-stage and finished product samples for comprehensive testing.
• Laboratory Analysis: Perform analytical testing using both instrumental and wet chemistry procedures (including pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometry).
• Process Monitoring: Conduct daily monitoring tests throughout the plant facility to ensure production parameters meet quality standards.
• Equipment Care: Perform routine calibration and light maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure system accuracy.
Data Management & Communication
• LIMS Integration: Document and enter all test results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and other computerized data systems daily.
• Operational Feedback: Promptly notify operations teams of required adjustments based on test results; provide recommendations to operators to achieve target quality.
• Record Keeping: Maintain ongoing records of testing procedures and archive product samples for result verification as needed.
Safety & Compliance
• Regulatory Adherence: Maintain strict awareness of and adherence to FDA, GMP, EPA, and OSHA standards and guidelines.
• Safety & Sanitation: Complete all safety certification requirements and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S/Housekeeping) to prevent cross-contamination.
• Inventory Control: Monitor lab supplies and notify supervisors for re-ordering to ensure uninterrupted testing capabilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: 2-year Science degree (Chemistry, Biology, or related field) preferred; or equivalent technical experience.
• Technical Skills:
oProven experience operating standard laboratory equipment (Spectrophotometers, pH meters, etc.).
oStrong mathematical skills for performing calculations associated with analytical testing.
oProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and lab-specific software.
• Physical Requirements:
oAbility to lift up to 40 lbs.
oAbility to remain on your feet for extended periods and move throughout an industrial plant setting.
• Professional Attributes:
oExcellent attendance history and a proactive "Safety First" mindset.
oStrong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
oWillingness to learn new processes and assume increasing responsibilities.
