Job description

Position Summary...Sam’s Club is member-obsessed, people-led, and tech-powered. We’re accelerating the evolution of our Ecommerce experience, and this role sits at the center of that transformation. As a senior Ecommerce leader based in Bentonville, you’ll own the business-side strategy and execution of major platform migrations from Walmart’s core technologies to Sam’s—spanning across member shopping experience, fulfillment, cart, checkout, payments, and next-generation delivery capabilities.
This is not a project management role. You’ll own the business outcomes, define success metrics, influence product and tech direction, and ensure new capabilities are adapted—not simply lifted and shifted—to Sam’s unique member experience. You’ll lead a team, partner deeply across Product, Tech, Analytics, Finance, Merchandising, and Marketing, and represent results to executive leadership. What you'll do...What You’ll Do Over the first 6–18 months, you will:
  • Own the business strategy, prioritization, and sequencing for Ecommerce platform migrations critical to Sam’s growth.
  • Translate Sam’s business goals into clear business requirements and success metrics for leveraged capabilities including site experience, orders, fulfillment, cart, checkout, payments, and emerging delivery models.
  • Lead the adaptation of Walmart-built platforms to Sam’s unique member model, including differentiated capabilities.
  • Define how new capabilities should function for Sam’s, rather than accepting one-size-fits-all solutions.
  • Drive roadmaps that balance speed, quality, and scale—ensuring nothing critical is missed in execution.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams while maintaining ownership of the business relationship and outcomes.
  • Establish and track KPIs tied to feature rollouts, adoption, performance, and financial impact.
  • Use analytics to understand performance, identify risks, and course-correct quickly.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment across Analytics, Finance, Merchandising, Digital Merchandising, and Marketing for every launch.
  • Lead and develop a team of managers and senior contributors, setting a high bar for execution and accountability.
  • Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and results clearly to senior leaders and executive forums (including LC).
What You’ll Bring You’re likely a strong fit if you have:
  • Proven experience owning product or platform initiatives from a business leadership perspective, not just delivery.
  • A track record of working effectively with Product and Technology teams within complex ecosystems.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to define metrics, interpret performance, and tie execution to growth outcomes.
  • Experience prioritizing and sequencing work across large, cross-functional organizations.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and making decisions where requirements are evolving.
  • The ability to go deep into details while still moving fast at enterprise scale.
  • People leadership experience, including developing managers and senior talent.
  • An execution mindset with a reputation for delivering the full 100%, not just the easy 80%.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with Ecommerce platforms, digital fulfillment, or large-scale migrations.
  • Program or project management background paired with true business ownership.
  • Exposure to marketplace, omnichannel, or membership-based retail models.
Why This Role Is Compelling
  • You’ll help define the future of Sam’s Club Ecommerce, utilizing the existing roadmap while bringing next level direction and goals.
  • You’ll work at enterprise scale while solving problems that are uniquely Sam’s.
  • You’ll have visibility, ownership, and impact—driving initiatives that materially move the business.
  • You’ll grow into broader leadership opportunities as the platform and organization scale.
At Sam's Club, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet!
-Health benefits include medical, vision and dental coverage
-Financial benefits include 401(k), stock purchase and company-paid life insurance
-Paid time off benefits include PTO, parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting. You will also receive PTO and/or PPTO that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. The amount you receive depends on your job classification and length of employment. It will meet or exceed the requirements of paid sick leave laws, where applicable.
For information about PTO, see https://one.walmart.com/notices.
- Other benefits include short-term and long-term disability, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, and more.
Live Better U is a company paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.
For information about benefits and eligibility, see One.Walmart.
The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
