The Role

Xylem is seeking an experienced Enterprise Salesforce Architect to define and lead the long-term architecture strategy for our global Salesforce ecosystem. This role plays a critical part in our multi-org transformation, shaping how Xylem delivers unified, scalable, and data-driven customer experiences across Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing.

The Enterprise Salesforce Architect will guide multi-org strategy, Data Cloud enablement, AI adoption, and complex cross-platform integrations—serving as an architectural leader with regular engagement alongside IT Leadership and the CIO. This position also provides mentorship and direction to solution architects and technical teams to advance architectural excellence across the enterprise.

Reports To: VP of IT BRM. Customer and Commercial Applications

Compensation Range: $180-200k + 20% AIP + relocation (if applicable)

Core Responsibilities Enterprise Architecture Leadership
  • Lead the enterprise-wide Salesforce architecture strategy, including multi-org patterns, data sharing, identity, security, and long-term decisions around consolidation vs. federation.

  • Define and govern Salesforce strategic direction, advising IT leadership on platform investment, roadmap prioritization, license optimization, and adoption of Data Cloud and AI capabilities.

  • Establish reference architectures, reusable frameworks, and standards to guide global design consistency and alignment.

Solution & Integration Architecture
  • Architect and oversee complex, end-to-end solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CX, Data Cloud, and customer-facing digital platforms.

  • Drive cross-platform integration between Salesforce and SAP S/4HANA, CPQ (Tacton/SAP), PIM, eCommerce, and middleware platforms (APIs, Mulesoft, Azure, event streaming).

  • Develop scalable data, security, and identity models supporting global operations and regional privacy requirements.

Technical Governance & Delivery Excellence
  • Create design patterns, governance rules, and processes to ensure quality, security, and reusability across the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Evaluate architectural impacts of new functionality, technical debt remediation, and modernization initiatives.

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise integration standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and data governance policies.

Leadership, Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership, providing architectural guidance on strategic initiatives.

  • Mentor solution architects and technical team members, supporting capability development and consistent design practices.

  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, data, security, and platform engineering teams to advance cohesive enterprise strategies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of Salesforce experience, including 5+ years in an architect role (Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect).

  • Proven experience designing and governing multi-org, multi-region Salesforce landscapes (3+ active orgs preferred).

  • Expertise across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Customer Experience, and Data Cloud.

  • Strong integration background (APIs, Mulesoft, Azure, event-driven architectures).

  • Experience evaluating org consolidation vs. federation strategies in complex enterprise environments.

  • Salesforce certifications: Application Architect or System Architect (CTA-track highly desirable).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Agentforce, Einstein, and GenAI implementation.

  • Background supporting or architecting solutions for manufacturing or industrial B2B companies.

  • Architecture leadership for CPQ (Tacton or SAP) and SSO integrations (Ping, OKTA).

  • Strong communication and executive presentation capabilities, with the ability to influence across global teams.
