Job Duties and Responsibilities

Principal Quality Engineer II sought by Hughes Network System LLC. in Germantown, MD

Provide strong technical leadership in delivering the software quality for OSS/BSS software. Work with technical architects, developers, and Business Users /non-technical personnel to translate business requirements into functional requirements. Lead onsite and offshore teams to deliver test suites for critical and scalable business applications using latest web-based technologies and cloud services. Identify and test cases suitable for various categories of testing such as functional testing, automation, Sanity, and Performance and Regression. Lead teams to develop detailed test cases with focus on User Experience both functional and non-functional. Provide insightful inputs during Business requirement analysis and System design phase from feature verification, performance, and other software quality related perspectives. Research and recommend industry best practices for Software Quality Management. Ensure organization quality process compliance across the programs under purview. Identify Software Quality process improvements with a view to reduce effort wastage through automation. Status review and presentation to management. Mentor Junior onsite/offshore members and align contributors towards stated objectives.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Requires: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field plus 10 years OSS/BSS experience in job offered or similar roles. Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following (which may have been gained concurrently):

  • OSS/BSS Test Management
  • JIRA, Confluence, Qtest, Selenium and LoadRunner
  • Java, JSP, Oracle, Javascript, microservices, google cloud platform, Salesforce, and Drupal
  • Kafka and Pub/Sub
  • Working in an agile environment and deploying individual products
  • Automated API testing tools
