Job description

Employment Type: Full-time, W2 position with Cogent People Inc. This is a direct hire position with full benefits.
Location: Hybrid Columbia MD 3 times a week OR Remote (as applicable to role)

Cogent People Inc. is seeking a Sr. Salesforce Developer to design, develop, and implement complex Salesforce solutions supporting CMS workflows and business rules.
This role is responsible for building scalable Salesforce capabilities, ensuring high-quality code delivery, and supporting secure, reliable enhancements within Agile delivery cycles.
The ideal candidate will bring deep Salesforce development experience along with strong knowledge of integrations, CI/CD practices, and regulated enterprise environments
This position may be contingent upon contract award.

What You'll Do
Salesforce Development & Solution Design
  • Design and implement complex Salesforce solutions supporting CMS workflows and business rules.
  • Develop and maintain custom functionality using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and Platform Events.
  • Configure and enhance Salesforce capabilities to support business and technical requirements.

Integration & Delivery
  • Develop and support Salesforce integrations with internal and external systems using REST and/or SOAP APIs.
  • Support scalable and secure delivery of Salesforce enhancements within Agile sprint cycles.
  • Contribute to solution delivery activities while ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives.

Quality, Performance & Collaboration
  • Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability of Salesforce solutions.
  • Support adherence to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices within Salesforce environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support successful solution delivery and implementation.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in Salesforce development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, Platform Events, and Salesforce integrations.
  • Strong understanding of REST and/or SOAP APIs and service-oriented architecture principles.
  • Experience supporting enterprise, federal, or regulated environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
