Employment Type: Full-time, W2 position with Cogent People Inc. This is a direct hire position with full benefits.


Location: Hybrid (Columbia, MD - 2 days onsite per week) OR Remote (as applicable to role)

Job Overview


Cogent People Inc. is seeking a Salesforce Data Analyst / Developer to support the development of analytical products, reports, and Salesforce-based solutions.


This role is responsible for performing data analysis, developing BI and Salesforce reporting solutions, and supporting the design and implementation of dashboards, queries, and Salesforce components. The position ensures alignment with business needs, data quality standards, and system performance requirements.


The ideal candidate will bring experience in data analysis, Salesforce development, and BI tools, along with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and operate effectively in an Agile environment.


This position may be contingent upon contract award.

Requirements:

What You’ll Do


Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform data analysis to support business and operational reporting needs
  • Develop analytical products and reports using BI tools and Salesforce reporting capabilities
  • Write and execute complex queries to respond to client data requests

Salesforce Development & Solutions

  • Design and implement Salesforce dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Develop Salesforce components including Apex, Lightning components, and related solutions
  • Support integrations between Salesforce and external data sources and APIs

Delivery & Quality

  • Ensure adherence to code quality, data quality, and performance best practices
  • Support scalable and secure delivery of reports and solutions within Agile sprint cycles and on an ad-hoc basis

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting using BI tools and Salesforce platforms
  • Experience writing complex SQL or similar query languages
  • Experience designing Salesforce dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Experience with Salesforce development (Apex, Lightning components, APIs, integrations)
  • Strong understanding of data quality, performance optimization, and secure development practices
  • Ability to work within Agile sprint cycles and manage ad-hoc requests
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
