Job description


WPTZ/WNNE, NBC5, the Hearst Television station serving Vermont and Northern New York, is seeking an organized, detail-oriented National Sales Specialist to support our national sales team. This role works closely with National Account Executives and Sales Managers to process advertising contracts, coordinate campaign scheduling and launches, obtain creative materials, and prepare sales support materials, ensuring campaigns are executed accurately and efficiently.
We are looking for someone with strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate maintains a high level of accuracy, remains calm under pressure, demonstrates professionalism in every interaction, and brings a positive, collaborative approach to the team.

Responsibilities
  • Enter and maintain national advertising orders, including electronic transfer and maintenance of MediaLine/WOCentral orders in WideOrbit.
  • Learn the functions of the Traffic and Programming departments and work closely with both teams to support daily operations.
  • Assist with scheduling advertising campaigns by assigning creative materials to local and political orders and ensuring traffic instructions are received and processed accurately.
  • Assist in developing sales proposals, advertising packages, client presentations, and other sales support materials.
  • Coordinate program grids, attach show numbers in Titan, and maintain accurate records of program schedules, changes, and cancellations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, clients, and advertising agencies to ensure the timely execution of advertising campaigns.
  • Maintain organized files and prepare proposals based on Account Executive requests.
  • Track sales initiatives and provide administrative support to the sales team as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with managers, coworkers, clients, and the public while providing a high level of professional customer service.

Requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel. Experience with WideOrbit or similar broadcast traffic software preferred
  • Previous television advertising sales or media industry experience is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quick learner who adapts easily to new systems and changing priorities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Professional demeanor with a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality work

Salary
The estimated base salary range for this role is between $43,000 and $46,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
