Job description

Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and implement sales strategies across all market segments to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Collaborate in setting annual sales targets and recommend actions to optimize performance during peak and low seasons.
  • Prepare budgets and ensure operations remain within cost constraints.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue prospective leads, negotiating contracts to achieve maximum profit while meeting client needs.
  • Monitor group booking pace and communicate critical deadlines or inventory changes to relevant departments.
  • Analyze market trends, occupancy potential, and client needs to inform sales strategies.
  • Create packages, promotions, and PR initiatives to drive incremental revenue.
Client & Guest Relations
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients and guests to strengthen relationships and uncover additional sales opportunities.
  • Resolve conflicts related to guest rooms, function space, or booked business while balancing customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Salvage accounts at risk of cancellation and execute corrective actions as necessary.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports to inform management of sales efforts.
  • Evaluate sales performance and make recommendations for process improvements.
Team Leadership (for roles with direct reports)
  • Hire, train, and mentor sales staff to ensure peak performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and goal-setting sessions.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and promote professional growth and internal advancement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate with other departments on activities related to booked business.
  • Participate in problem-solving, operational meetings, and special projects to enhance property performance.
Brand & Community Engagement
  • Represent the property professionally in the community and maintain awareness of competitive developments.
  • Consistently model the Baywood Ambassador behavior, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional guest service.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Participate in community service initiatives and other company-sponsored events.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a Sales Manager or similar role within a comparable property.
  • Strong reputation and network within the local business community.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proven track record in proactive sales and revenue growth.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work flexible shifts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Google Workspace preferred.
  • Familiarity with PMS and sales software.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, depending on the market.
  • Effective leadership and team-building capabilities.
Certifications & Licenses
  • Brand Sales Manager certification preferred.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, and driving; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
