JOIN OUR TEAM! Hanes Supply, Inc. is a well-established full -line industrial manufacturer of slings and contractor supplier specializing in lifting solutions. Hanes Supply offers a comprehensive and diverse product line to its customers including: rigging, fall protection, power tools, fasteners, hand tools, construction and safety equipment. Headquartered in Buffalo, NY, Hanes Supply has six other branches in the United States.

Position Summary: Supports Outside Sales with order entry and customer service by managing complex quote requests and order entry for industrial distribution customers, with a primary focus on the power generation sector (nuclear, wind, and solar). This role requires sharp attention to detail, strong research skills, and the ability to handle high-volume, multi-line quote requests — often without complete part number information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Observes all safety procedures, rules and regulations, and instruction in performance of job duties.
  • Manages order entry and quote conversion for large, complex customer requests — often 50 to 300 line items from power generation customers in nuclear, wind, and solar industries.
  • Researches and identifies products using Google, AI tools, manufacturer resources, and internal databases when customer-supplied part numbers are incomplete or unavailable.
  • Collaborates with the Sales Team to evaluate customer requirements, interpret drawing take-offs, and support accurate quote generation.
  • Coordinates with purchasing, vendors, and production to align delivery schedules on large or time-sensitive orders.
  • Processes and prices rigging requests, applying learned knowledge of rigging configurations, load requirements, and relevant specifications.
  • Reviews mechanical drawings and technical documents to support product selection and order accuracy.
  • Communicates with customers to clarify requirements, troubleshoot potential issues, and confirm order details.
  • Works with Sales, Marketing, and management to support national sales initiatives and follow up on leads and open quotes.
  • Supports inspection and data entry efforts related to quoting replacement equipment.
  • Contributes to process improvement efforts in order entry workflows to improve efficiency across production, delivery, and customer fulfillment.
  • Works fluidly across departments and teams.
  • Can switch from project to project nimbly.
  • Contribute and assist as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read engineered drawings and decipher information needed to quote the customer
  • Comfortable learning technical product lines including rigging, reading mechanical drawings, and working through complex customer specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel); able to learn and become proficient in order entry and data entry software.
  • Strong internet research skills, including comfort using Google and AI-based tools to identify products from incomplete specifications.
  • Solid mathematical aptitude — able to perform or learn to perform calculations related to rigging, load ratings, and product specifications.
  • Ability and willingness to learn rigging products, configurations, and terminology.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly convey technical information to customers.
  • Active listening skills with a customer-first orientation.
  • Able to manage a high-volume workload, prioritize competing deadlines, and perform accurately under pressure.
  • Methodical, detail-oriented, and consistent — especially when processing long, complex orders.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Able to build effective relationships across departments and with external customers and vendors.

Level of Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 6 months of experience in customer service, inside sales, or order management preferred.
