Position Summary 


The Sales Manager, New Car, is responsible for leading the dealership’s new vehicle sales team, driving performance, and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction. This role oversees daily sales floor operations, supports inventory and merchandising strategies, and ensures consistent execution of OEM and dealership sales processes. The Sales Manager, New Car, works closely with senior leadership to meet sales, profitability, and operational objectives while maintaining a positive and customer focused environment. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the new car sales team to achieve sales volume, gross profit, and customer experience goals.
  • Oversee showroom operations, including customer engagement, deal support, team performance, and sales process compliance.
  • Support new vehicle inventory management, including allocation, ordering, pricing, and merchandising in alignment with OEM programs. 
  • Ensure proper use of CRM systems, including lead follow-up, appointment setting, and customer documentation.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of new car sales consultants. 
  • Monitor sales KPIs, review performance metrics, and implement corrective actions to drive improvement. 
  • Collaborate with the Finance & Insurance team to ensure smooth deal flow and maximize front and backend profitability. 
  • Manage escalated customer concerns promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of satisfaction. 
  • Partner with marketing to support traffic driving initiatives, online merchandising, and promotional campaigns. 
  • Ensure compliance with OEM requirements, dealership policies, and all regulatory standards. 
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications 

  • Proven experience in automotive sales, preferably within new vehicle operations at an OEM dealership.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to develop, support, and motivate a high performing sales team. 
  • Strong understanding of new car sales processes, OEM programs, and inventory management practices. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and act on sales performance data and market trends.
  • Proficiency with dealership CRM and DMS platforms. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. 
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
