Job description

Position Overview:

The Washington Capitals Marketing Intern is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations for the Marketing department. This position will focus on assisting with fan development initiatives, promotions, grassroots marketing efforts, events, and community programs. This is a paid internship.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Marketing team with daily activities, events, and projects.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of all Capitals marketing initiatives including Caps Canines, Kids Club, Alumni Association, events, and promotional schedule.
  • Conceptualize and propose new concepts for various aspects of fan development, experiential marketing, promotions, and theme nights.
  • Develop new and enhance current community programs to be implemented throughout the season.
  • Share creative and innovative ideas for marketing communications including newsletters, sales offers, event messaging, and brand campaigns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Innovative, independent, and upbeat.
  • Organized, able to prioritize work and problem solve in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for live entertainment, promotions, events, and creating experiences.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including grammatical, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) a plus, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft products and/or Canva is required.
  • Availability to work 25 hours/week from September through May (3+ days per week).
  • Reliable transportation and housing.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Pay Rate: $18.40 USD/hour.
