Role Summary 

Scout Motors is redefining the allelectric pickup truck and rugged SUV marketplace through a directtoconsumer first business model. As Director of Sales Operations, you will own the operational backbone of Scout's commercial engine-spanning vehicle order management, distribution, logistics, incentives, remarketing, and fleet-purposebuilt to support and scale a modern, digital, consumercentric selling model. 

This role ensures Scout builds and delivers the right vehicles, to the right customers and markets, at the right time, and at the lowest possible cost. Success requires new thinking that challenges legacy automotive norms while leveraging advanced analytics, AIenabled decisioning, and tight integration across Digital, Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Finance, and Commercial teams. 

What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  1. Order Management & Vehicle Distribution (DirecttoConsumer Focus)
  • Own endtoend order and distribution strategy across directtoconsumer, digital, retail experience centers, and fleet channels 
  • Design fastselling model and configuration strategies that balance consumer choice with operational simplicity, speed, and margin 
  • Ensure vehicles are positioned in the right locations and channels to support a frictionless consumer purchase and delivery experience 
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IBP, Sales, and Marketing to align build plans with realtime demand signals 
  • Deploy AIdriven forecasting and allocation models to optimize mix, allocation, and rebalancing 
  1. Logistics & Delivery Operations
  • Lead a consumercentric logistics strategy focused on speed, transparency, cost efficiency, and scalability 
  • Optimize transportation, storage, and lastmile delivery models supporting Scout's direct delivery promise 
  • Implement technology platforms providing realtime endtoend vehicle visibility 
  • Drive continuous improvement using automation and AIenabled network optimization 
  1. Sales Incentives, Programs & Financial Services Integration
  • Own design, governance, and execution of customer incentive programs to drive demand at the lowest effective cost 
  • Deploy personalized and targeted offers using customer, market, and behavioral insights 
  • Partner with Scout Motors Financial Services on competitive retail and lease programs 
  • Maintain tight coordination with Finance to manage large incentive budgets with precision 
  • Ensure seamless integration of incentives and finance offers into the digital purchase journey 
  1. Remarketing & Vehicle Lifecycle Management
  • Lead endtoend lifecycle and remarketing strategies protecting residual values and brand equity 
  • Own tradein integrations, Certified PreOwned (CPO) programs, loaner vehicles, and secondary market strategies 
  • Apply data science and AI tools to dynamically manage pricing, timing, and channel mix 
  • Ensure remarketing programs drive loyalty, trust, and repeat purchase 
  1. Fleet Strategy & Program Management
  • Establish and scale Scout's fleet strategy aligned with directtoconsumer principles 
  • Build fleet policies, operating processes, and lifecycle management capabilities 
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, and IBP on competitive fleet offerings 
  • Develop longterm fleet relationships that contribute to sustainable volume and margin 
  1. AI, Digital, IBP & CrossFunctional Enablement
  • Champion AI, advanced analytics, and automation across Sales Operations 
  • Partner deeply with Digital to embed sales operations into the consumer journey and tooling 
  • Maintain integrated operating cadence with IBP to synchronize demand, supply, inventory, and incentives 
  • Ensure clean, connected data across CRM, order, logistics, finance, and digital platforms 
  • Translate insights into scalable processes improving speed, cost, conversion, and profitability 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Analytics, or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred 
  • 12+ years of direct experience across sales operations, vehicle distribution, logistics, incentives, remarketing, and/or fleet 
  • Demonstrated success supporting or transforming a directtoconsumer or digitalfirst model 
  • Proven experience managing large commercial budgets with rigor and accountability 
  • Handson experience deploying AI, advanced analytics, or automation in commercial environments

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range =  $180,000.00 - $220,000.00
