District Sales Representative - State College, PA

Pay

Salaried grade 8

$79,500 - $90,700/ year, depending on experience and qualifications. Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 40+ hours (start the day early, often prior to sunrise)

Job Summary
Join McKee Foods as a District Sales Representative and drive sales growth in your assigned district. Collaborate with independent wholesale distributors and retailers, foster relationships, and identify lucrative sales opportunities. Be the face of McKee Foods, motivating and supporting wholesale distributors, and ensuring the success of our products in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Foster sales growth through collaboration with independent wholesale independent distributors and retailers
  • Cultivate strong business relationships with distributors and retailers
  • Act as a liaison between McKee Foods, wholesale independent distributors, and retailers
  • Motivate existing wholesalers to expand sales
  • Recruit and appoint competent candidates to distributorships
  • Provide orientation for new distributors and communicate best business practices
  • Manage and develop a company sales territory as necessary
  • Ensure daily operation and maintenance of a company vehicle
  • Adhere to established business conduct practices
  • Maintain regular communication with supervision
  • Complete reports and assignments in a timely manner
  • Temporary and occasional operation of an open location
  • Serve as a professional representative of McKee Foods in the marketplace

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of one to two years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
  • Three years of retail management or sales experience
  • Previous customer service experience across diverse situations
  • Capable of lifting and moving up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to draw conclusions from data, prepare and deliver sales presentations
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in establishing strong business relationships
  • High level of initiative, self-motivation and independence with a goal-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and mobile technology
  • Willingness to travel extensively within or outside of the assigned district
  • Ability to operate a box truck weighing more than 10,000 pounds when needed
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • High level of personal integrity and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in a business-related field
  • Three years of sales experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) and/or Direct Store Delivery (DSD) industry
  • Proven experience in making sales calls with retailers (store level and headquarters)
  • Ability to complete a DOT physical examination
