Job description

Sales & Operations Assistant

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We're looking to add someone to the team that is versatile, trusted to move across departments, systems, and sensitive information as our needs shift week to week. One day you're building a sales deck for a client pitch, the next you're tightening up a recruiting pipeline or writing the procedure that doesn’t exist yet. We are looking for someone who's comfortable operating without a playbook and can figure out what needs to happen, and just do it. If you've been the person at a previous company who ends up touching everything because you get things done, this role was built with you in mind.

What You'll Do

  • Act as a utility across operations, sales, recruiting, marketing, and admin — prioritizing based on what the business needs and not a fixed job description.
  • Support the sales process: CRM, lead follow-up, and building client-facing decks.
  • Recruiting logistics: scheduling, candidate communication, pipeline management.
  • Keep internal systems and information organized and current.
  • Write and own procedures/SOPs where none exist yet.
  • Support marketing through research, content drafts, and project tracking.
  • Take on ad hoc and special projects, including ones nobody has defined yet.

Who You Are

  • You've operated in a generalist capacity before and you're comfortable being the person leadership hands ambiguous problems to.
  • You're excellent at Excel and can pull and interpret data without handholding.
  • You're tech savvy enough to pick up new tools and systems on your own without waiting for training.
  • You write clearly and professionally — this role touches client and candidate communication.
  • You're organized and detail oriented.
  • You're intellectually curious, you'd rather figure something out than wait to be told how.
  • You can keep focused and reprioritize quickly in an environment that changes week to week.
  • Bonus: familiarity with CRMs, project management tools, and recruiting platforms.
  • Onsite 5 days/week, with potential hybrid flexibility after the training period.
