Sales Manager - Exterior Remodeling focus

Location: Bay Area / Sacramento, CA

Position Overview

The Sales Manager will lead and scale the residential home improvement sales operations in Northern California, with primary focus on the Bay Area and Sacramento markets. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing and coaching a team of in-home sales representatives, optimizing closing ratios, and ensuring high-quality customer experience from consultation to project handoff.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in B2C home improvement sales, understands in-home closing dynamics, and can build a performance-driven sales culture focused on measurable results and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of 3 or more in-home sales representatives
  • Set and monitor individual sales targets, KPIs, and closing ratios and ensure gross profit targets, minimum closing ratio and average ticket sizes are maintained
  • Conduct regular ride-alongs, performance reviews, and pipeline inspections
  • Drive annual revenue growth targets for the region as well as market expansion
  • Oversee commission structures aligned with performance and profitability
  • Analyze territory performance and recommend staffing adjustments
  • Monitor regional sales payroll budget within industry benchmarks
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and protect company reputation
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in exterior remodeling sales is required (related: home improvement or remodeling sales)
  • Proven B2C in-home closing experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing a sales team
  • Strong understanding of commission structures and gross margin management
  • Experience participating in or managing home show sales channels preferred
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Highly energetic, organized, self-driven, and results-oriented
  • Ability to work partially from office with field presence required
Preferred Background
  • Experience in exterior remodeling, roofing, windows, HVAC, or general contracting
  • Former Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Senior In-Home Sales Representative
  • Experience managing regional revenue between $3M and above
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting dashboards
